WORDS ARE MY BUSINESS
I've been a journalist for 38 years and know my way around writing and editing on deadlines. I also understand the power of story-telling and narrative. As someone who has been both a reporter and editor, I also know what it's like to be on either side of the keyboard.
I've edited writing in many forms: books, columns, magazine-length pieces, breaking news, features, interviews, obituaries, culture, sports, investigations, etc. I am dedicated to clear communication that removes unnecessary "noise" and holds the attention of an audience.
I've worked as a reporter and editor in newsrooms in the Adirondacks of New York State (The Adirondack Daily Enterprise of Saranac Lake and The Press-Republican of Plattsburgh), in the Hudson Valley in New York (The Times Herald-Record of Middletown), and as an executive editor in Pennsylvania (The Pocono Record of Stroudsburg).
I joined the Metro copy desk of The New York Times in 2014 and I'm now the deputy weekend editor on The Times's breaking news desk, the Express Team.
